It monitors U.S. emergency channels for all hazards and Emergency Alert System (EAS) weather bulletins, warnings, and forecasts. It gets all National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) reports, which provides all available emergency advisories on tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, floods, evacuations, civil danger warnings, and more. Holds up to 8 messages in it’s history and has an audio alarm with visual alert signal. And you can program it for your specific area, up to 9 areas in fact using Specific Area Message Encoding (S.A.M.E.) broadcasts in up to 9 different locations to receive area-specific information.
